Sky F1 "enjoy the ride" advertisement (Framestore 2023)

The Sky F1 commercial "Enjoy the Ride" that I worked on at Framestore in late 2022/early 2023 was my absolute favourite professional project so far.

I built a procedural setup in Houdini to generate the racetrack going in a rollercoaster type loop, with all its details being procedurally placed.

There was a wide variety of different track pieces, as they were laid out on a per-shot basis in Nuke during previz. Based on each of those layout pieces I generated three curves that would make up the road surface and serve as a basis for placing all the other racetrack elements. Getting the UVs to work properly was a bit of a challenge, which I managed to solve by writing some custom VEX code.
